Osumah Chambers is a duly registered law firm offering legal services of the widest and most vibrant dimension. The firm has a mission and vision to be a strong, well-updated and dynamic practitioner in Advocacy and Solicitorship within Nigerian and global legal perspectives and economy. To achieve this, it continually and continuously works and operates from a stakeholder's perspective in the pursuit of a viable, just and equitable legal and justice system in Nigeria and in the international arena.

Osumah Chambers has a strong bias towards commercial law practice in its very wide sense spreading through nearly every strategic sector of the economy.

History/Creation

The firm came into being vide a repositioning of the law firm of Musa Elakama & Associates. The principal solicitors in the law firm have distinguished themselves in litigation and corporate commercial law practice over the past 20 years.

Faculty

Osumah Chambers draws from faculty membership of over 28 legal and business professionals and academics. Osumah Chambers' faculty is made up of associates, partners and lawyers with several years experience and specialist knowledge in given fields.

The Associates/ Consultants

The Associateship is made up of vastly experienced lawyers who are presently engaged in top-level participation in the strategic sectors of the Nigerian economy. General Practice

Osumah Chambers Associates/Consultants have been involved in extensive legal practice for over twenty (20) years.

During this period they have successfully handled cases from different legal fields with a clientele base that includes the Federal Government and some state goverments including some of their agencies.

Oil and Gas, Maritime, Communications

In Oil and. Gas, Osumah Chambers represents several Oil and Oil Services Companies. It has specialists in Petroleum Law as well as having quite an appreciable on-the-ground knowledge of the operation of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Law and Practice. In maritime, Osumah Chambers has been involved in the drafting and collation of several legislations including the

NIMASA and Cabotage Laws and represented several companies in matters of Charter-party and arrest of ship. Our arbitration expertise has come in handy in some of these matters.

In communications, Osumah Chambers is a major stakeholder in this sub-sector of the Nigerian Economy. Osumah Chambers today serves as legal representatives to some PTO's as well as some of the GSM operators. With the unification of the Licenses, Osumah Chambers plays a frontal role in the harmonizations required.

In the area of copyrights and patents, Osumah Chambers has provided legal services to several registration and protection processes. It has also successfully initiated legal actions aimed at protecting the copyrights and patents of several artistes, authors, manufacturers and importers of goods and services.

In criminal litigation, Osumah Chambers has participated in several criminal trials both celebrated and uncelebrated. Osumah Chambers has over the years acquired extensive experience on EFCC matters.

Banking

Osumah Chambers has personnel who are qualified Associates of the Chartered Institute of Banking. This translates into a good mix of banking and law. It has immense in-depth knowledge of the operations and activities of banks and the Central Bank of Nigeria; and some of our faculty members have worked with banks and major financial institutions over the years.

Taxation
